I’m Zach Boulain, an art director and designer based in the US with 17 years in branding, design, marketing, and creative leadership. I split my time between the Bay Area, New York, and New Orleans, always seeking the next bold challenge.
Design has been my obsession since age 6, when I built my first cereal box out of cardboard, gouache, and glue. By recess, I had kids lining up to play the board games and paper cutout “video” games I crafted.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of brands, including Yahoo!, L’Oréal, Zenni, La Poste, Amy’s, and emerging startups, delivering bold, strategy-driven work across branding, packaging, ad campaigns, motion, and web design.
Off the clock, creativity still runs the show. I find inspiration in anything I can create with my hands: painting, crafting, woodworking, leatherwork, and cooking. There’s an energy in the raw, tactile process. The textures, the imperfections, the unpredictability—they’re all part of the process that keeps my creative engine burning.
